Yoga

Whether you're in a strong, playful or gentle season of your life, I am passionate about leading a soulful and inclusive practice.

Helping you drop into your flow state and stimulating the body's inherent self-healing and regenerative capacities through improved circulation, range of movement, postural alignment and soothing mantra.

I’ve spent my life exploring bodywork disciplines, initially coming to yoga to protect myself from injury whilst touring as a contemporary dancer.

I travelled to India in 2011 to explore its classical roots, completing my first TTC in Sivananda's beautiful Madurai Ashram, continuing onto graduate from Triyoga's 2 year Advanced TTC in 2018 with mentor's Jean Hall and Anna Ashby.

I also work as a massage therapist and have trained in pre and postnatal yoga with Kirsteen Ruffle of Birthlight.

In 2018 I co-created Hourglass/Ground Yoga a Cafe & Yoga Space next to Clissold Park. During the Pandemic classes moved to the lovely community studio around the corner Hackney Showroom where I continue to teach alongside a handful of other lovely local studios and Hourglass transformed into Brewed.

Testimonials:

“Honestly, Joelle is such an incredibly gifted teacher. I am in awe of the creativity and thought that goes into her classes, both the grace that powers the movement side, and the way the sequencing ties into a beautiful flow of thought and metaphor that gives it such depth. I find myself still thinking about her comments days later, (the ribs being a basket rather than a cage..) and I also love her physiological explanations of what effect poses are having, how movements that seem so slow and gentle can have such transformative effects. Her classes are so playful and profound at the same time, almost like a dance or a poem.” Emily, Writer

"I cannot recommend our Yoga Instructor, Joelle Green highly enough. Since she has started leading classes at Redburn, she has garnered a loyal following of practiced yogis and beginners and has had a really positive effect on our workforce’s wellbeing. Her professionalism is matched by her warmth and she is an asset as a visiting teacher."  Laura Hunt, Redburn

"Beautiful sequencing, wonderful use of language and intuitive adjustments. Joelle creates a welcoming space for her students of all abilities and offers individualised modifications." Rachel Skipper, Yoga Teacher

"Joelle has taught Vinyasa Flow and Meditation at my studio YogaLab since it opened in 2016. Her classes are always fully booked and she builds great relationships with clients, providing suitable challenges for beginners through to advanced. She guides practitioners mindfully, theming her classes, giving a strong focus to breath, safe alignment, and strengthening the mind-body relationship." Yasemin, YogaLab

"I really enjoy my classes with Joelle, her slow vinyasa flow style. Dynamic yet gentle and luxurious. A gorgeous combination." Carlie

"Joelle's classes are free-flowing and filled with interesting information on anatomy. Explaining how poses might feel and how to embody the alignment, she provides structured and balanced classes to leave you feeling energised and stretched for the rest of the day." Lara, The Well Garden
